Real Quick Monday

Monday, May 11th, 2009

Going to try to do this as fast as possible so I can get home and cook dinner!

Today I created two new prospect reports.

I also participated in the Open Plate in the Garden planning committee. Now I’m in charge of getting rocks painted. That took up a sizable chunk of the day, but I’m fine with it since I got enough work done on prospects.

Thats it. Monday sucks, peace!

Stones Rolling

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

I’ve been listening to the Rolling Stones all week at work. Beggar’s Banquet, Aftermath, Exile on Main St, Some Girls, and Let It Bleed. I feel like a sellout.

Today we had an all-staff meeting. David Davenport, our President and CEO, outlined where we are as an organization and where we are going. Its exciting to be starting here at this point in time when the CAFB is expanding its capacity significantly. I guess this makes it that much easier to fulfill my capacity-building duties as a VISTA. The leadership here believes that CAFB is among the best food banks in the country, if not the best. I have no way of evaluating that but I will take their word for it, because this really is a great place to work.

I had a meeting with Paul today to check on my prospect reports progress. So far so good, onward and upward. I finished prospecting Austin foundations yesterday and will be moving on to other Texas cities and towns within our service area. Next stop, Waco…hm.
